Music And Dance

This year, June 21 date to celebrate music, falls on a Friday. All communes of Réunion will take advantage of the weekend to schedule three days of live music.

In most cases, the events will be public and free. The proximity of the municipal elections, in 9 months, will further strengthen the municipalisation of this historic day and empty it of its objectives for the democratization of the practice of music.

Officially: “Fête de la Musique was created in 1982 by the Ministry of Culture. When Maurice Fleuret becomes Director of music and dance in October 1981, at the request of Jack Lang, he applies his thoughts on musical practice and its evolution: “music everywhere and the concert nowhere”. Discovered in 1982, on the occasion of a study on the cultural practices of the French, that five million people including a young, play a musical instrument, it takes to dream to take people to the streets.

And so, in a few weeks, Jack Lang, Minister of Culture, decided to launch the first Fête de la Musique, June 21, 1982, day of the summer solstice, pagan night referring to the ancient tradition of the Saint John festivities.

“Make music, Fête de la Musique”, the watchword has become formula had nothing of the slogan. This mobilization of musicians professionals and amateurs, this new attention to all musical genres, became, through the immediate success of a popular and largely spontaneous demonstration, the translation of a policy which had intended to grant their place in the amateur practices as well as rock, jazz, song and traditional music, to the sides of so-called serious music or scholarly. »

Thus, in a few weeks, “Make music” has made the streets a joyous mass of people of all origins and social conditions, issue of ‘tasting’ a musical instrument. It was a great civic meeting. And, above all, creative, participatory and inventive.

Over time, the spirit of political recovery was eventually infiltrate the spontaneous movement and creative to make room for a riot of ‘concerts’ lavish expenditures where elected officials to provide spectacle, far from the original and official slogan “music everywhere and the concert nowhere”. The advent of parity or the arrival of newly elected officials have accelerated drift of liability of reunion and a reunion. Happy birthday anyway, and “do” for the better.

The Fête de la musique 2013 takes place as four years in Blaye… June 21. A bargain, this 21 year is a Friday, start of weekend for some, could therefore go to bed late in Blaye! Not too all the same to the ears of local residents and those (including merchants) who work the next day.

But the party is scheduled for 20 hours at 1 o’clock in the morning, so in reasonable times. With the exception of Decibels 33, Kiff radio, who decided that “it will be a crazy night ‘… “Where you will see at least 10,000 people”… It leaves them this advertising.

For the municipality that organized the event with the assistance of blayaises associations (in particular for the snack bars and fast food), “the feast ends reasonably 1 hour”, says Christian Verdier, Councillor in charge of the organization. For a musical overview (with the sound of his choice) what will be the feast with Decibels, the site of the first John in the region provides highlights and presents her performance.

Seven scenes, two tables

This year, the Fête de la musique will distribute on seven stages: three in the city (at the kiosk in musiquen it is rigour! Face_a restaurant the small Port and Europe square, corner of courses and the rue Saint-Simon). And four in the Citadel: street of 144th-RI, place d’Armes, behind the convent of the Minims and the castle of the Rudel.

“We wanted, no pun, play on two tables: the music with his men, groups and another way to see it, more modern with its”machines”such as Decibels or tehno (with Krapotec) ‘ stresses Christian Verdier.

And this gives very different scenes that we can all try to or not select some. Among the novelties: Tabacco rum (a very nice duo), a “master class zumba ‘ (place de l’Europe), reggae (with move your bled)… Or can love find property premises known: the Sybarites, Agnos, Bombyx of the Cuvier, Padlezard…

A top starting

This Friday will be the first day of a series of free festive moments dedicated to music. A really musical summer beginning concocted by the municipality.

Next week, opening music with Carlosbarcelona10 at the couvent des Minimes, then to come, two balls: ball on 14 July and August 2, the presence of musical groups at the night markets (4 July and 1 August).

And of course the resumption of Cita-delta that delights the public each Sunday evening from August on the place d’armes of the Citadel. And it is not finished announces the chosen: “Les Journées du patrimoine will be musical. In Blaye, those who love music are what to do! »

Listening To Music

Because the music is kinda like a drug. Listening to music that you love ‘triggered a secretion of dopamine in the brain, like cocaine and amphetamines’, writes Robert Zatorre, Professor of Neuroscience at McGill University of Montr eal, in the International Herald Tribune on 13 June.

A drug it even useful to administer to facilitate some learning – in particular languages, has proven Daniele Schön, researcher at the Institute of cognitive neuroscience of the Mediterranean. Who has never sung the tunes and lyrics of foreign songs learned on school benches, even though he thought have forgotten all of the so fredonnee language?

“THE MOZART EFFECT”

Surgeons music lovers are also more efficient, more accurate when they perform tasks of routine to music, according to an experiment conducted in 1994 by Karen Allen and Jim Blascovich, two researchers in psychology from the University of Buffalo (New York).

But be careful with generalizations! The ‘Mozart effect’, described there is 20 years, and that listening to music would work better, is that under certain conditions. Badly managed, the remedy product, on the contrary, havoc!

Listen to music before the dope work professional efficiency. Not because it makes happy and calm the anxious. On the other hand, listen to music while working would be rather catastrophic, the profession of surgeons being, it is hoped, the exception that proves the rule!

Nick Perham, researcher at the Department of applied psychology at the Cardiff Metropolitan University (Wales), comes not only to prove that it stores less well when working in music. But, in addition, that performance is particularly degraded when listened music is loved music. In the limit, if you cannot live without, better then listen to an unknown air or which does not vibrate. But then, what good?

Public Of New Facets Of This Music

By: Rachid Hamatou

This first edition will be closed tomorrow in the regional theatre of Batna. Many groups in several cities in the country in this genre have occurred on the boards offering to the public of new facets of this music. In addition to the concerts, workshops on guitar techniques have been proposed by Naïth Mansour and Kabouche Hadjissa performers

The opening of these first days was held last Monday at the regional theatre of the city with the representation of the Nostalgia group. This first show was sold-out, through the provision of this training came to Oum El-Bouaghi. This event, which continues until tomorrow, hosted groups from several wilayas in the country.

These days of flamenco music is an initiative of former students of the regional Institute of musical training with the contribution of the Directorate of culture of Batna. One of the initiators of this festival, the guitarist for the band (batna), Hasan Kafi Tahouissa, returned to the birth of this project at a small meeting in the margins of these music days. He told us that this project is not new, but for many reasons and difficulties, it has been postponed repeatedly and voila it germinates in this month of June in Batna. “As we have long hoped”, says enthusiastically Hasan Kafi, who does not hide his joy. For this first edition, the organisers simply some groups only.

But this edition is as a prelude to other meetings larger, richer and better prepared. Among the participants, one group of flamenco in Algiers, another Kenchela and solo musicians in this case Naderi Mansour and Kabouche Hadjissa, who will not settle only for a performance in public, but they will be, inter alia, to the delight of lovers of flamenco, workshops on the techniques of flamenco guitar (at the level of the regional Institute of music education)which opened its doors on this occasion as well to the connoisseurs as novices. An opportunity, according to Hasan Kafi, for the Batneens, but for Auressiens who can better know this kind of music. The delivery of the Nostalgia group, of Ayn El-Beida, homeland of the Cantor of the chaoui Aissa El-Jarmouni song, has managed to seduce a connoisseur audience, thanks to a subtle mix between flamenco and Berber music (chaoui). These two genera possess a great similarity, because they appeal to the sentiments and the Mediterranean. Aziz Bnidir, former pupil of the Music Institute and graduated from the conservatoire de Paris, we said that flamenco singing exists in Berber women, called soleá “a song that Berber women still have hummed”. The institutionalization of the days of flamenco music, collaboration with various institutes and universities to give an academic character, allows, for sure, to support this long neglected musical genre.

Music Festivals: Sex, Drugs, But More So Of Rock’ N’roll

A quarter of the 2,000 Festival interviewed for this study admit to having had sex with a (e) unknown (e), 21% say there have used drugs, and 13% have fought.

This behavior is not only attributable to the young recruits since even among the festival-goers aged between 45 and 54 years, they are no less the feast: 9% admit having taken illegal drugs, 20% drank more reason, 10% have sleep with an unknown (e) and 2% came to the hands, according to the study carried out in Britain for MSN.co.uk.

Among festival-goers British, only 45% admit to go on summer Plains to the music. Others come for the atmosphere, see friends and meet new ones, and escape from the daily grind. 47% admit to conduct that they “would never outside this festival environment”.

According to George McKay, Professor of cultural studies at the University of Salford, these inhibitions forgotten in festival are quite normal. “Festivals are deeply rooted in the tradition of carnivals and incite so to reverse our usual behaviour. Anarchy and subversion are rules of life”he explains to the DailyMail.

“This Carnivalesque attitude appeared as early as the first music festivals in Britain, as in the Beaulieu Jazz Festival in 1960 which ended in riots. The modern festival-goers simply follow this ancient tradition. “Music festivals continue to be places where we can escape from reality and no longer follow rules and at any age”, he concludes.
